Drums > Space
just a little heads up .. to those whining about the cuts .. if you really want to hear entirety, click on “check for other copies” and you’ll not only get to hear some amazing audience recordings (which many claim produces a much closer sound to what you heard that night ;-) but you’ll get the uninterrupted D>S that you’re yearning for … no offense intended ;-)

Help on the way....
My take on the concert is 3 stars for the performance and 3.5 for sound quality. I took away stars due to drums and space being cut. The highlight for me is the help>slip>frankins.....

RE: encore
seamones1 - I remember the lights coming on during the encore, then going off again when they were finished, and for a moment it seemed like they might actually play another song. Then the lights came back on again.
Fun show, horrible post-show scene in the lot. When I heard about Adam Katz afterward I wasn't surprised at all, though very bummed to hear it. Those yellowjacket tools were on a mission. RIP Adam.

memories
These shows were great but were always overshadowed by the memory of Adam Katz. I always hated the NJ vibe ironically I moved here. G-D rest his soul. I'm glad others were there and remember him.

this was a very good show but nothing in the second set would stand up to the help on the way-slipknot-franklins tower....absolutelty flawless in my opinion..minglwood was really hot also...after the the show i separated from my friends for a while and when i returned to the car my friends were gone...i was stranded!!!i dont know what happened to ADAM KATZ but i was one of the last people in the paking lot that night...i stood by the the pay phone and watched the parking lot empty..this was a really fucking scary scene...there were still a few drunk heads arguing with the GUMBAS...AND I WATCH ALL THIS SHIT WHILE STILL TRIPPING REALY HARD..its safe to say i was starting to have a bad trip...finally convinced a cabbie to take me home...oh yea the second set was really nice ..just not really outstanding..A NICE FIRE ON THE MOUNTAIN WOULD WOULD HAVE PUT THIS SHOW OVER THE TOP...oh well...it is what it is..PEACE

Cuts in Drums and space - What the F?!
Man, does that aggravate me when you get to drums/space and some genius has decided to cut them out! Well, here they cut out most of drums. You get to space, start to enjoy, and WHAMMO, another cut. Then you get space again for a few minutes, but the best part has been taken out. What a gyp.
I am just getting to China Doll, so far nice sound but the music is nothing particularly special, and the drums/space thing sucks.

Good Show
Down one and puff one for Adam... The security was out of control for this venue. We saw guards hitting people. They must have gotten hold of the PCP guy on tour first, used his shit and took it out on the crowd. I'm glad the FBI did find the red carpet fibers from the security van on Adam's clothes. It led to a conviction.
My friends and I decided to sit behind the stage for this night. We wanted more space for dancing. Good guess. I wore my Blues for Allah shirt that night. Maybe I was hoping for the Help>Slip>Franklins. When they plucked the first notes for the Help I lost my stuff. During the set break before the rest of the band came back out Phil was talking to his wife. I stood up yelled his name and waived. He looked up and waived back. That was a highlight for my Dead Head life. Hot Scarlet. Great night. Anytime they did the Help was a great night. But this night was completely blown away 2 nights later for Bobby's B'day.

ChinaDoll
Wow, you were there when Bobby actually came out?
This is my favoritist version of China Doll...would have turned down Brent's organ a touch at the end though. The emotion in the omnipotent Garcia's voice is entrancing. Nice jam into Truckin' too. In my wildest dreams, they would have jammed back into Fire on the mountain from China...oh well, next show upstairs in the bighouse OK, Jerry, Brent, and Pig? Love you guys, but sadly never saw a live show :( - Big Thanks Internet Archive!!!

World Series
Does anyone else remember Bobby (?) coming out - either at the beginning of a set or the encore - and giving the crowd the score of Game 1 of the 1989 World Series? That was the A's/Giants/Earthquake series. I also recall Brent wearing a Giants hat at one point during the show.

My first show...
I will never forget my first show at the Meadowlands. I was in heaven for the day, and for a few days later, if I remember correctly! I was in the 5th row in front of Jerry-the look on his face when they sang 'women are smarter' makes me smile even today. Yes, Adam Katz will always be remembered. My tapes are AUD and are not that great quality, so this was a real treat to find! THANK YOU!!!!

Excellent show.
This was such a fun show! Scored tix in the lot 1/2 hour before the show. Great set list and the China Doll was hauntingly beautiful!
Great sound board here, above average sound.

Sounds good....
....too me? Just streaming it and i am liking he Scarlet jam, not "too hissy". Didn't make it in for this one but got hassled by the yellow shirts instead. It goes without saying that they was major assholes all week long. And we was soooo coool, sucks to get beat up, or worse, just for listening to music. So take another toke for Adam and download this show, it's good, sorry I missed it but the next 5 shows made up for it. This run, hampton through philly, was the band taking the next step in a 4 year span of some great playin, that lasted until the summer of '90. Oh well, "it all rolls into one..." Enjoy the show and don't overlook the philly shows, some good shit there too.

What a show!! The crowd blew the roof off the place with the first few licks of Help on the Way. This that a great show, the energy was high, worth DL for the H>S>F alone
